May 8, 20120 Comments

What an amazing first day of West Coast Sessions put on by Amplid, Auviq, Camtrol and Timberline Lodge at Mt. Hood in Oregon. It was a perfect sunny day and everyone had got a chance to warm up on public day so it was a huckfest with Skiers and Snowboarders throwing down on Timberline’s many features with several lines to chose from it was amazing to see all the different takes on style going down! We are sponsoring a multi-day freeshooting contest so we will be posting videos for the next couple weeks as they finish up editing! We filmed all day long and ended up with 35 GB of footage to go through so we will have a video up soon, but for now here are some pictures from yesterdays fun!

NAB 2012 Wrapup

May 2, 20120 Comments

The Camtrol Crew had a great time in Vegas at the National Association of Broadcasters 2012 trade show. We met lots of awesome people who where interested in our products with tons of positive things to say about it and we had many sales at the show with many people taking advantage of the extension of our show sale! We showed our products and videos to the owners of GoPro, Contour, Atomos, SmallHD, and several other companies representatives all with positive feedback. It was a fun show with tons of cool toys to check out, I mean who doesn’t need a $2.5 Million Dollar helicopter with a $500,000 stabilzed camera stuck to the bottom of it like our buddies over at Snaproll Media!

Camtrol Free Shooting Tools Releases Two New Rigs

at NAB 2012

Camtrol introduces The SniperTen80 KS, a POV, DSLR, Camcorder, and iPhone compatible, fully transformable stabilizing support rig; and the Prime 33, the enhanced model of the Prime and Prime 22 flagship models.

Breckenridge, CO. — Camtrol is thrilled to announce the release of two new pro rigs, adding to its patented Professional line-up of the most advanced, transformable and stabilizing support rigs available today. The rigs will officially launch at the NAB show in Las Vegas (Booth # C12533) April 14 – 19, 2012.

Camtrol is at the forefront of the “Freeshooting” revolution that is taking place currently with DSLRs, Camcorders, iPhone/iPads and POV cameras. Freeshooting is defined by the ability to shoot on the go and having being able to quickly adapt to changing situations. Camtrol rigs are designed with these needs in mind, and are an essential tool for action sports videographers, video journalists, production companies, film students, photographers, and more. Camtrol rigs are lightweight, solid, ballistic and portable, but provide unlimited range of camera rapid adjustments never before available all on one lightweight rig via the patented ball joint Pro Series Kinematic Chain suspension. They also provides the necessary stability and extra protection for cameras on the move.

The newest addition is the Camtrol Sniper ProSeries with our flagship SniperTen80 KS, designed specifically to stabilize and support POV cameras like the Go Pro and Contour, but is capable of handling DSLRs, small camcorders, and iPhones. The SniperTen80 KS provides an unlimited new range of camera handling options, never before available for mounted POV cameras. The Sniper’s quick release plate provides rapid and secure interchangeable camera options. The ultimate ballistic tool for run and gun shooters!

Secondly, Camtrol is releasing the Prime 33, an upgrade from its Camtrol Prime ProSeries predecessor, the Prime 22, which launched in 2011. The Prime 33 is the most universally adaptable, transformable and stabilizing support rig on the market today, and offers diverse varieties in true hand held shooting. Constructed from aircraft quality aluminum, the Prime 33 weighs in at just a pound and half. Based off of our patented Pro Series Kinematic Chain Camera Suspensions, new features include the addition of two ¼ female mounting points, one in the 15mm accessory post of redesigned remote mounting plate and the other in the front of the quadpod baseplate makes this rig the most adaptable on the market. This added flexibility allows it to be mountable on tripods with quick release plates and allows easy direct mounting options for our TROL adjustable arms for adding monitors, lights, mics and even other cameras for multi-camera shooting. With its unique ergonomic handle, shooting has never been easier or more comfortable, add our Super Plush Airide Grip for extra cushion and vibration dampening. Speaking of cushioning and vibration dampening the quadpod platform baseplate has additional foam inserts under the dampening traction pad to absorb more vibration. The Prime 33 can easily be converted from a quad-pod into a tripod, and comes equipped with multi-accessory mounting options. The Prime 33 provides a complete solution for shooters looking for creativity and balanced diversity that can be reconfigured quickly to adapt to changing shooting situations.
